What is the Closed on Sunday AI trend?
The Closed on Sunday AI trend recreates the ending of the 2019 music video for “Closed on Sunday” by Ye (Kanye West): one figure stands still while a huge choir moves around them. In the AI version you are the one standing still.
People also call it the Kanye choir trend or the Sunday Service choir trend. The format is simple, which is why it spread so quickly: one photo, one shot, one figure who does not move.
The joke works because of the contrast. Everything behind you is moving, swaying and singing at full volume, and you do not move a muscle. The stiller and more serious your expression, the funnier the Closed on Sunday AI video gets, which is why front-facing photos with a straight face perform best.
How the trend started
On October 14, 2026 @bellvtrix_ai posted a cat choir version that took off. @downey.ai posted a human version, and @battos13 turned it into a CapCut template that many people reused.
What stays the same and what changes
The rules: one person (or pet) dead centre, completely still, facing the camera; the choir sways and sings; the camera pulls back slowly. On this page only the one in the middle changes: the beige-robed choir, the sunlit hillside and the camera move stay exactly as in the trend clip. Cat or skeleton choirs are a different clip; bring one to Motion Control AI if you have it.

- 1

Photo tips: how to stand still in the shot
- Facing the camera, centred, neutral expression
- Plain background so the choir can replace it
- Even light on the face
Avoid
- Side profiles or looking away
- Group photos (the trend needs one person in the middle)
- Photos where the body is cut off at the neck
Fine-tune your video
Same prompt, full controls: switch the model, length or aspect ratio, attach a reference video, then generate.
Closed on Sunday AI FAQ
What is the Closed on Sunday AI trend?
A TikTok trend where one person stands perfectly still in the centre while a huge choir sways and sings behind them. You can make it from one photo on this page.
What song is used in the Closed on Sunday trend?
“Closed on Sunday”, from the 2019 album Jesus Is King. The example clips on this page play with the original song; your generated video comes with a licensed choir track instead, because the song can’t be licensed for generated videos.
What does “closed on Sunday” mean?
It is a line from the song, a nod to businesses that close on Sundays. In the trend it simply names the choir format.
Can I do it with my cat or dog?
Yes. Use a photo of your pet sitting upright and facing the camera, and pick A pet. Your pet stands still in the middle of the human choir.
Can I swap the choir for cats or skeletons?
Not on this page. It always recreates the trend clip with the beige-robed choir, so only the one in the middle changes. If you have a cat or skeleton choir clip, use it as the motion reference on Motion Control AI.
Can two people stand in the middle?
No. The trend clip has one still figure in the middle, so this page casts one person or pet from one photo.
How long is the video and what size?
4 seconds in 16:9, the same length and framing as the trending choir clip it recreates.
Is this affiliated with the artist?
No. Oraclip is not affiliated with the artist or his labels. The trend name is used only to describe the meme.
Should I label the video as AI?
Yes, turn on the AI-generated label when you post.
