How VibePico checks faces, handles photo consent, and limits the retention of family portrait photos and detection information.

VibePico uses face detection to help check photo quality and the number of people in a family portrait. Detection is not identity recognition: a matching count does not mean that the result looks like the people in your references. We do not create identity embeddings, identify people from a face database, or retain face templates or face geometry for these checks.
This notice explains the family portrait checks. Our Privacy Policy covers accounts, payment records, other tools and the AI services that generate images.
During photo preparation and result review, a detector can run in your browser. It temporarily calculates face positions, sizes and counts so you can inspect the photo. The positions and review crops are not uploaded by the detector or stored in your account as face geometry. Your selected reference photos are uploaded separately when you submit a generation request; local detection does not make generation an on-device service.
When server result verification is enabled for a new task, the server also counts human faces in the generated image before settling its reserved credits. It processes that image in memory and retains only the expected count, detected count and task outcome. A count mismatch uses the task's one system retry; if the retry still fails the count check, the photo fails and its reserved credits are released. A detector outage is not treated as a count of zero. Pets are not counted as human faces. These checks can miss faces, and they do not guarantee likeness or image quality.
The detector downloads its model from our public media host. Photo pixels are not sent to that host as part of the model download. Generating a portrait sends reference photos to the AI provider through the separate generation process described in our Privacy Policy. We do not claim that the provider performs all processing locally or follows our own storage deadlines.
Reference photos held by VibePico expire after 24 hours and results after 30 days. Access is denied after expiry; scheduled cleanup removes stored copies. Available photo, task and account deletion controls let you request earlier deletion. Account deletion requires confirmation and forfeits the remaining balance as described in the account controls and Terms.
Temporary server detection data is discarded after the check; face positions and identity features are not written to the task record. Aggregate counts and task outcomes may remain with task and billing metadata under the retention rules in our Privacy Policy. Deleting a stored photo does not erase required billing records. Local drafts stay in your browser until you clear them or clear the site's browser storage.
AI providers hold their own copies under their own policies. Our 24-hour and 30-day periods describe VibePico's storage and do not promise deletion of every provider copy within those periods.
Before submitting photos, confirm that the adults pictured have agreed to their use and that you are the parent or guardian of any minors, or have the necessary permission. Do not upload photos of people without permission. Review your reference photos, the requested people and pet counts, and the generated faces before sharing a result.
You can stop preparing a photo, clear the local draft, or use the deletion controls after submission. You can also choose not to submit a photo. Face detection is a quality check and does not replace your review or the consent of the people pictured.
